I saw the ENT specialist on Tuesday. He had some scary things to say, but it is almost Halloween, so who doesn't?
I will go in on Monday the 9th for a 6 hour surgery to remove all the cancer (that they can) and then we will start chemo and the pills to help me pretend that i will have a thyroid + calcium.
after this all should be well ... no real horrible lasting effects!
thank you for all your prayers!

Biopsy's
On Monday, the 19th, I went for a biopsy of my thyroid and on Wednesday, the 21st, I was in for a biopsy of my lymph nodes. These procedures are not as much fun as they sound.
On Monday my mom took me to the hospital (Thanks mom) while my sister in law babysat. (Thanks sister in law) We got there and the technician brought us back and he explained why we were not doing both biopsy's this time, but what I got out of it was that he was the official assistant to the assistant and he did not really know much.
So I changed into their beautiful gowns and laid down on their table. This is where it gets kinda scary. I saw the eight needles that they were planning to stick into my neck (not far from the place where my clavicle meets my sternum). Knowing that they intended to stick me with those needles, I laid very still (as still as I could... but I still wiggled my toes). Then they got the ultrasound ready, numbed me up, and started jabbing away. When they were done with one side they did the same on the other side. After they were done and I was dressed again and they walked me down to make an appointment for the lymph node biopsy.
On Wednesday, I got to the hospital at 7:00 am (Thanks Mom for babysitting) and was told to have a seat and wait and that they would call me back in just a moment. 15 min. later we were called to the back to fill out paperwork and put on one of their beautiful gowns instead of my T-shirt and for the nurses to put an IV in my arm. At this time I was thinking that if I had been 15 min. late they would have canceled my appointment, but I laughed it off because, well lets be honest, has anyone ever had a doctor be on time an appointment?
After the doctor came in he was not sure what I was in for. This doesn't inspire much confidence in this man. I was then wheeled down the hall and we started the Cat scan. I was given drugs for "anxiety and pain" and they worked great. I do not remember much but I do remember being brought back to recovery and hearing the nurse calling Hubby, but nothing before.
The results should be in soon.
I have just realized that, all in all, I have had an awesome year! (really where is the sarcasm font?!)
Update: I have thyroid cancer.
